Shoreline Build Their German Album Tour Around the Bands Beside Them

Shoreline have completed the support line-up for their upcoming German album release tour, bringing Between Bodies, Pluto The Racer and Scott Evil along for different parts of an eight-city run. For the Münster emo-punk band, who came up through squats, basements and small clubs themselves, the choice of who opens these shows feels significant.

The tour supports Is This The Low Point Or The Moment After? and begins at Bei Chez Heinz in Hannover on 25 September. Leipzig, Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden and Munich follow before the run finishes on 16 October.

Rather than filling those opening slots with the biggest available names, Shoreline have built the package around bands they feel connected to through friendship, attitude and sound.

It makes the tour interesting beyond Shoreline’s own album cycle. This is also a snapshot of some of the smaller bands currently moving through Germany’s emo, punk and post-hardcore network.

Three bands, three different directions

Between Bodies will appear on the first six dates, from Hannover through Stuttgart.

Their take on emo-punk brings indie and melancholy into the mix, with layered vocals and a less aggressive approach than Shoreline’s hardcore edges. The band released Hands To Hold Each Other in 2024 and have remained closely connected to the same German alternative circuit Shoreline occupy.

join the Hannover and Leipzig dates before returning for Wiesbaden and Munich. Coming from Hannover themselves, they work around emo and skate punk, with the melodic immediacy of bands such as Title Fight and Basement sitting somewhere in the background.

Then there is Cologne’s , who join the tour in Hamburg and remain through Munich. Their sound pulls towards shoegaze and post-hardcore, using dense guitars and shifts in dynamics rather than straightforward punk momentum.

None of the three sounds exactly like Shoreline.

That is part of why the package works.

The infrastructure underneath a scene

Support slots can easily become little more than names printed in smaller type underneath a headliner. At this level of touring, they can mean considerably more.

Bands discover each other through shared shows. Audiences arrive early and find something they hadn’t heard before. Promoters book those bands again. Friendships turn into another tour, another support slot or a recommendation to someone in another city.

It is an ordinary process, but it is also how independent scenes continue to function.

Shoreline know that route particularly well.

The Münster band describe their own history as beginning on the floors of squats and basements, followed by years of playing whatever European venues would give them somewhere to plug in. Over roughly a decade, that has developed into international touring and a position where they can now bring other bands into those rooms with them.

Choosing Between Bodies, Pluto The Racer and Scott Evil therefore carries more weight than simply completing a tour poster.

It gives three smaller acts access to audiences across Germany while keeping the bill rooted in the network Shoreline themselves came through.

It is a relatively compact German run, but one that connects several important club cities without losing sight of the smaller bands travelling alongside the headliner.

For Shoreline, the obvious story is a new album and eight release shows.

Look slightly further down the bill, though, and there is another one.

Between Bodies, Pluto The Racer and Scott Evil are getting access to rooms and audiences beyond their immediate local scenes. Shoreline once needed other bands to provide exactly those opportunities.

Now they are in a position to return the favour.
