Hatebreed Hit Hard with New Single ‘Fatal Paradox’ Ahead of Ninth Album

Hardcore heavyweights Hatebreed have released “Fatal Paradox,” the title track from their upcoming ninth studio album. Fatal Paradox arrives on November 6 via BLKIIBLK Records and marks the band’s first full-length release since 2020’s Weight of the False Self.

The new single follows the previously released “Kill Count Increase” and offers another preview of a record that puts Hatebreed firmly back into album mode after a six-year gap. Fatal Paradox also marks the band’s first release through BLKIIBLK and sees them reunite with longtime producer Chris “Zeuss” Harris, whose history with Hatebreed stretches across multiple chapters of their career.

Hatebreed return to familiar territory

“Fatal Paradox” doesn’t suggest Hatebreed are interested in reinventing the formula that has made them one of metallic hardcore’s most enduring bands. The title track is built around the aggression, heavy riffing and pit-ready intensity that have defined the Connecticut band’s sound for decades.

That familiarity is part of the point. More than 30 years into their career, Hatebreed remain a bridge between hardcore and metal, with their influence reaching across generations of hardcore, metalcore and modern heavy music.

The upcoming album follows Weight of the False Self, released through Nuclear Blast in November 2020. That record continued a run that includes scene-defining releases such as Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire, Perseverance and The Rise of Brutality.

A new label, but a familiar collaborator

While Fatal Paradox starts a new relationship with BLKIIBLK Records, Hatebreed have kept an important part of their recording history intact by once again working with Zeuss.

The producer has been closely connected to the band’s sound for years and also worked on Weight of the False Self. His wider production credits include bands such as Rob Zombie, Accept and Shadows Fall.

The combination makes Fatal Paradox an interesting balance between a new chapter and continuity. Hatebreed may be working with a different label, but the creative team behind the record understands exactly where the band’s particular collision of hardcore urgency and metal weight comes from.

Still built for the live environment

The album campaign arrives while Hatebreed remain as active on the road as ever. The band are currently headlining the Summer Slaughter tour and have additional 2026 appearances alongside acts including Slayer and Turnstile, as well as a scheduled appearance at Furnace Fest.

That relentless live presence has always been central to Hatebreed. Their catalogue contains tracks that have become staples of hardcore and metal festival sets, and new material inevitably faces the question of how it will function once it reaches the pit.

With “Fatal Paradox” following “Kill Count Increase,” the answer so far seems clear: Hatebreed are writing with that environment very much in mind.

Six years after their last studio album, Fatal Paradox begins another chapter for a band whose connection between hardcore and metal remains as relevant to the current heavy scene as it was when they first started breaking beyond the underground.
