Walls Of Jericho Unleash New Single ‘Agency’ Ahead of Comeback Album

Detroit hardcore and metalcore veterans Walls Of Jericho have released “Agency,” the latest single from their upcoming album System Error: Humanity. Set for release on November 13, 2026 via Napalm Records, the record marks the band’s first full-length studio album in ten years.

The new track follows “True Til’ Death” and offers another look at what Walls Of Jericho have prepared for their long-awaited return. While the band have remained active on stage since their previous record, including appearances at Hellfest, Tied Down, Furnace Fest and Louder Than Life, System Error: Humanity will be their first studio album since 2016’s No One Can Save You From Yourself.

“Agency” puts self-determination front and centre

Musically, “Agency” sits on the faster, more thrash-driven side of the new record. Napalm Records describes both “Agency” and “The Flame” as tracks built around high-speed riffing and solos, while other songs on the album lean further into the band’s more claustrophobic and confrontational hardcore sound.

The message behind the song is equally important. “Agency” is one of several tracks on System Error: Humanity centred around reclamation, self-determination and human rights. Together with songs such as “Borrowed Ground” and “Last Judgement,” it reflects a band that is still willing to connect hardcore’s aggression with something to say.

That approach fits naturally with Walls Of Jericho’s history. Emerging from Detroit in the late 1990s, the band helped shape the meeting point between metallic hardcore and what would develop into modern metalcore. Records including The Bound Feed the Gagged and All Hail the Dead established them within the underground before later albums expanded their reach internationally.

Randy Blythe joins the comeback

System Error: Humanity also brings several familiar names from the heavier end of the scene into the studio.

Lamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe appears on “Broken Mouths Can’t Speak,” joining Candace Buckingham for a dual vocal performance. Guy Kozowyk of The Red Chord features on “Humanity,” adding another connection to the hardcore and extreme-metal world surrounding Walls Of Jericho.

The album moves between different sides of the band’s established sound. Tracks including “The Ascent” and “Untouchable” lean into heavier, more abrasive territory, while “A Brighter Fire” slows things down before “The Reckoning” closes the record with one final breakdown-heavy statement.

Ten years later, Walls Of Jericho are properly back

A decade between albums is a significant gap, particularly for a band whose influence can still be heard across contemporary hardcore and metalcore. Walls Of Jericho never completely disappeared during that period, but System Error: Humanity turns their continued live presence into a full-scale recorded comeback.

“Agency” suggests they have little interest in returning as a nostalgia act. The speed, metallic hardcore foundation and socially conscious message remain firmly connected to the band’s roots, but this is new material intended for the scene as it exists now.
